History

Vin, or born name Galvin, was born in the small Veena village located in the north of Skatay Range, far away from the outside world as part of their traditions. Like other kits raised by mother and nannies, Galvin was showered by the love of his mother and nannies, while learned to arm himself as the hunter in the future.As the proactive kit in the village, Galvin volunteered himself in helping the nannies in taking care of other kits older than himself, in addition to his talents in picking up skills and knowledge faster, he became one of the favoured helpers in guiding the future hunters and guardians to their duties.

On the age of 14, Galvin discovered that he was born different from other kits - while other kits' gender become clearer upon reaching puberty and their genital developing, he possess the parts of both genders, in other words he was both male and female, which was barely heard of. However young Galvin believed that he was born male and dreamed to become a Guardian of the Forest. Thus he hide his feminine feature and declared himself to the clan as Guardian. The elders did not question his words, and he was sent out from the village to one of the Guardians in the forest.His master was a masculine Viera with red hair that resembled fire. After years in the forest, their relationship started as master-disciple, eventually fall in love with each other. Galvin confessed to his master about his secret, worried that the other would reject him.But it did not happened.Under the full moon, the two vowed to mate for life and slept together.

However the brief peace was broken by the sound of horn in the dawn break - the village was being attacked. When they reached the village, the place was engulfed in flames, among the dead bodies stood a demonic woman, her claws dripping blood of the people she killed."There you are, my little prey."A battle broke out shortly, but the pair was easily overpowered by the humanoid voidsent and captured. The succubus destroyed the village in search of the "prey with ambrosian aether" in which she laid eyes on Galvin. However she was angered that the Viera was, in fact, not a true woman that she favoured, in addition to the fact that he was tainted by a man. In rage the succubus tortured the pair for days, physically on the master while Galvin could only watch in agony, unable to break out from the void prison.

When Galvin fell into despair, watching the man he loved dying in front of him but unable to do anything, a group of stranger breached the voidsent's hideout and killed the succubus swiftly. The pair was saved, but only Galvin survived. Despite in the state of despair, the Viera managed to identify the people who came to aid - a group of Reapers from the north (now Garlemard region) in exterminate the stray voidsents and human who fallen into the void's temptation, claimed themselves as the Hunters.Angered by the existence of voidsents, Galvin asked to join the group, however the group refused at first as they do not take people of other races. However the leader noticed that the spare Reaper jobstone resonated with the Viera, eventually agreed to the request.

Months after Galvin joined the Hunters, he found out that he was expecting a kit, the memento his mate left behind. The Hunters were surprised by the news as they thought the Viera was a man, but they quickly accepted it and jokingly called Galvin as mommy, especially his body shifted from masculine to feminine during pregnancy. He paused his Hunter training for a month before labour and gave birth to a healthy kit.Galvin continued his life with the Hunters for decades, flourishing from rookie into veteran. His kit grew into fine lady and eventually sent to Sharlayan for study, as he saw the potential in her. The Hunters returned to Garlemard when the Imperial Army began its operation in eliminate the Reapers. As the only foreigner in the group, Galvin was ordered to continue his Hunter duties, despite his willingness to fight together with his comrades.

Separated from the group, Galvin wandered alone in the realm continuing his Hunter life, somehow had himself stuck in Eorzea during the Calamity and survived. The number of voidsents had increased since the calamity, the requests in exterminating the threats are increasing as well. Thus the life of a Hunter continues.

Trivia

- Despite appearing as female most of the time, Galvin uses "he" pronunciation on default except certain circumstances. He loves to confuse people about his gender.
- Works as proprietress of a Far Eastern style eatery in Limsa Lominsa that provides resting stop for travellers.
